To all those folks who think Apple can do no wrong, well they f@&ked up on this one. The app is lame not, convenient at all.

This is a must have application. Its simple to use and can really assist you in finding your way back to your place of origin. Great for finding where you parked your car, and is a must when hiking. Eric Cosh

I want to echo everything one of the previous posts (titled Read the Instructions, v.1.1) said...and then some. Just a brief tutorial: --Let the app use your current position. --Then put in the end coordinates (destination). --Turn compass on (this makes it much easier to orient). --Now start walking in a straight line. --Pay attention to the right side of the compass--this is telling you the degrees you NEED to be heading and how many yards/miles from your destination you currently are. --Now that you have that, continue walking straight and re-orienting yourself until the degrees in which youre ACTUALLY moving (displayed on the compass graphic) match where you NEED to be headed. --REMEMBER the satellites wont notice that you have spun and re-oriented in any particular direction until you move that way in a straight path for several yards (this is the difference between this app and an actual magnetic compass--and this is the main issue which is upsetting so many disappointed and misunderstood users) --Continue this and theres nothing else to it. Understanding the technology and purpose of this app is key, and after using it Im extremely satisfied. I have used this for geocaching twice so far and it was right on the money both times (the app said I was 5 yards from my end coordinates and I was truly within 5 yards--just in case youre not familiar with these types of devices, you really cant expect any more accurate than that with ANYTHING out there). I especially love how it has the sun reference that you can use as a gauge to prove the app is truly working and has a recent fix on you. And if Im not mistaken the thin black half-arrow on the compass points to the degrees you need to head? My only request is that you allow for inputting different types of coordinates, specifically MGRS (Military Grid Reference System), ie. to find a 10, 8, or 6 digit point on a UTM MGRS map. Lastly, I live in interior Alaska where there is no 3G coverage. I have been deep in the woods numerous times and have ALWAYS had an accurate fix. Even in dense woods the compass notices my new orientation after a few yards of travel which is a testament to this app and how perfectly and exactly it does its job.

Great product! But PLEASE upgrade the very very lame icon! I realize its non essential, but cant help hating the product just before launching it each time , that dumb up-arrow...looking like some 7-year-old designed it. Youve got a technical app!! Do it justice...make the icon cool, akin the inclinometer app. Sorry for being trivial & negative, but I paid a whole $2 for it!  Otherwise, a great product!! 

complete garbage. this app does not work....my wife has more sense of direction than this app. the developer needs to offer refunds or apple should push them too since they featured it on their commercials. unfortunatley, this was the first app I ever bought from the app store and may nbe the last one!

Cant understand why there are any reviews that say this doesnt work. The instructions are clear as glass and even the compass bearing will tell you to "MOVE" to get a fix on your position and the provide you your declanation. As a former Army scout with extensive training in land navagation, this is a good compass app for the iPhone. 5 stars! R*T*F*M people

I think if you posted a video demonstration on your website it would help a lot of users

This app uses the GPS function only, and does not use the 3Gs compass.

Does not use built-in compass and sometimes of by a mile.

This app is great, the people with negative reviews either cant or wont read the directions(it says there not compatible with iPods or touches) or they thought this would act as a magnetic compass circleing about.. I use it to go geocaching all the time now and it makes it sooooo easy to find my target location when I can manually enter the longitude and lattitude!!! Thank you for a great app

I tried this out on several long walks, and I was happy with how it worked. Its fun to track your progress with a compass, even if you do know where you are, and where you are going.

I believe this is the best of the GPS compass apps, but it is still kind of frustrating and time consuming. I think it is the available tech, not the app design. Since I dont have a 3GS, I think I might just go out and buy an actual, separate compass!

Hard to use .. poor documentation, still does not work as advertised..looked great on television...

Really cool looking compass app. They really made the gps direction work well on the 3g. I use it conjunction with "PlaceBook" which saves all my favorite locations with their coordinates so I can just enter them in compass go then navigate to the places like its 1989. Anyway, definitely check out this app. 100 % worth 99c.

Poor documentation. Cant get back to compass from map. Better apps out there - save your money

The idiots that are giving bad reviews for this app need to get their facts straight and I bet they dont have the slightest clue about compasses. This is a great app and has worked flawless for me. If you read and comprehend the directions properly you will have no problem understanding how this app works.

Im puzzled by the negative comments. What do you expect for $.99? Someone to pop out of your iPhone and lead you by the hand? This app DOES work so RTFM and find yourself. I mean find out for yourself.
